We, at Pune Collective, invite you to our eleventh program on Saturday, 1st, May 2021.
Today we are all experiencing the failure of the “SYSTEM” in preventing the second wave of the corona. The combined effect of unavailability of hospitals, ventilators, drugs, and the lack of oxygen is disastrous.
This second wave has completely exposed the pathetic condition of our health infrastructure.
No matter the number of walls raised to hide deaths, the plumes of smoke rising from the cemetery are suffocating all of us. The BJP government, which has been busy planning one election after another, seems to have failed miserably in planning for this national disaster. No concrete action plan has been drawn up for the fight against Corona in a year and a half. The Prime Minister did not convene a meeting of the National Task Force in February and March, despite the rising figures indicating a second wave. This can be called nothing but unforgivable neglect.
After Independence, India made efforts and successfully carried out vaccination drives. Free vaccines for all were India’s one of the important achievements then. But today the central government has again shown us that they don’t have their citizen’s well-being on their agenda. Instead, they are busy pleasing their crony friends.
The Right to Life and Health is a fundamental right enshrined in our Constitution. But today, this right is being trampled on. Vaccines are currently the only option. But there is skepticism among the masses. Therefore, there is a need for raising awareness on the same.
It is against this background that we invite you for “Break The Chain”,
