In a blatant violation of basic democratic principles, the parliament passed three new agricultural bills ignoring strong dissent from the opposition and bypassing voting. Thousands of farmers around the country, whose grievances the government has completely ignored, are protesting against the bills. It is important that we discuss and understand this issue which is critical to a vast majority of Indian society.
To this end, we invite you to a Panel Discussion on the Agricultural Bills, with peasant leaders and experts.
In this session, we will be joined by Raju Shetty, former Member of Parliament of India, Founder of Swabhimani Shetkari Saghtana; Parthasarathi Biswas, assistant editor of The Indian Express, Pune, and journalist who writes on agriculture and politics; and Ajit Navale, peasant leader and General Secretary of All India Kisan Sabha, Maharashtra.
This session will be in Marathi, Hindi, and English.
